Speaking on Sky Sports, former Manchester United man Lee Sharpe has revealed that he thinks Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba could enjoy a “good partnership”.
What did he say?
The Red Devils signed Fernandes from Portuguese side Sporting CP for a fee of around £47m in the final week of the January transfer window. Whilst the midfielder made his first-team debut in the clash against Wolves in the Premier League, he didn’t get the opportunity to play alongside Pogba, who has been out injured.
But Sharpe has insisted that as a pairing in midfield, the duo could “cause all sorts of problems”, and admitted Pogba’s absence has hurt United significantly this season.

He said: “I think they (Fernandes-Pogba) would have a good partnership. You would have to play them with someone who could do the defensive work. Fernandes is a natural forward-thinking midfielder.
“Going forward, I think they can cause all sorts of problems between them. It could be just what United need. It’s been really disappointing with no Pogba this season, I think they’ve really missed him. He’s got charisma on the pitch and the creativity he brings to the game – there’s a level of arrogance and ability that brings everyone up to Paul Pogba’s level.”
Mouth-watering
The sooner Pogba can get back to full fitness and onto the pitch, the sooner United can realise this tantalising prospect of seeing the Frenchman and Fernandes together in the same line-up.
On his debut for the club against Wolves, Fernandes showed what he can potentially bring to the table. As per Sofascore, he had five total attempts on goal (three of which were on target), completed five accurate long balls, and registered an impressive 110 touches.

Alongside Pogba, the duo could help dominate the midfield battle for the Red Devils and ensure they have a goal threat from a position other than their forwards. It could well be the partnership that helps rescue their season and fire them into the top four.
Meanwhile, Man Utd fans have hailed this starlet after his display in the FA Youth Cup.
