Leeds United fans were showing love for Luke Ayling after the defender’s interview following their 2-0 loss away to promotion rivals Nottingham Forest.
In his post-match interview with the club (via Barney), the full-back claimed that the opening goal from the Reds ‘killed’ the whole team. Sammy Ameobi scored the game’s opening goal when he struck home a powerful effort inside Kiko Casilla’s near post in the 31st minute (via BBC).
One fan thinks the right-back was about to cry.
Ayling also claimed that the team started ‘alright’ and went on to bemoan the fact the side haven’t scored the opening goal in a game for a while. Indeed, the last time the Whites scored the first goal in a fixture was the 5-4 win over Birmingham City, way back on the 29th of December (via WhoScored) as their form has collapsed.
