da 888: John Carew represented Aston Villa between 2007 and 2011, scoring 48 goals in 131 appearances for the English club in all competitions.
Carew also boasted a very respectable record of 37 Premier League goals in 113 appearances, and there is no question that he was a popular figure with the club’s supporters.
Carew ultimately left Villa for West Ham United in 2011, but he spent just one season with the Hammers before hanging up his boots.
Standing at 6ft 5in, Carew was a fairly big man to say the very least, and used to cause Premier League defenders an absolute nightmare with his ability in the air.

The 91-time Norway international also turned out for the likes of Valencia, Roma and Lyon during a successful career, and is currently enjoying his retirement.
The Villa fans have taken a bit of time away from absolutely hammering head coach Steve Bruce by paying tribute to their former centre-forward.
