da roleta: The first titanic tussle of the season sees Manchester United welcome Chelsea to Old Trafford.
da betsul: Sir Alex Ferguson’s young side have begun in blistering fashion as they begin the defence of their Premier League title. The 8-2 demolition of Arsenal and 5-0 thrashing of Bolton have certainly declared United’s intentions with Wayne Rooney the ringleader. Two consecutive hat tricks has seen the England striker’s goal tally catapult to eight in four games and one more will make it the best goal scoring start by a United player in the top flight. It’s not just Rooney who is hitting the net with Javier Hernandez announcing his comeback at the Reebok Stadium last week with two quality goals. Little Pea is a thorn in Chelsea’s side having scored three times against them last season and will be looking to add to that tally on Sunday. Ferguson’s youthful side have yet to face a test on the scale of Chelsea and it will be interesting to see whether the Scotsman will tinker with his lineup and inject some experience to be on the safe side. With Ashley Young and Nani providing the bullets from outwide it’s hard to look beyond the hosts for this one.
The Blues have picked up in recent weeks and that has coincided with the arrival of Juan Mata. The Spanish playmaker has added some much needed flair and artistry into the midfield that new coach Andre Villas-Boas was desperate to inject when he came to the club. Raul Meireles has also slipped in without complication and his partnership with Mata could hail a new era at Stamford Bridge with Frank Lampard coming to the end of his career. This is Villas-Boas first big examination as Chelsea boss and he’d sure like to have Fernando Torres finally firing on all cylinders. The £50 million man continues to cut a sorrowful image in West London and is yet to score a goal this season. A repeat of his dominant performance at Old Trafford as a Liverpool player in 2008 would be the perfect way to begin his renaissance.
The Red Devils will be without injured quartet Tom Cleverley, Rafael, Danny Welbeck and captain Nemanja Vidic although Rio Ferdinand could come back in.
Didier Drogba is still suffering from the effects of a concussion and is likely to miss out whilst Frank Lampard and John Terry could return after being rested in midweek.
Key Players
Wayne Rooney: How can you look beyond Manchester United’s inscrutable talisman? He’s bang in form and playing with a smile on his face. Chelsea will need to keep a close eye on him as he drifts in between the lines.
Ashley Cole: Cole will know all about Ashley Young from England duty and will be tasked with halting the wingers progress whenever the ball comes anywhere near his fast feet.
Verdict: 2-1
