da betsul: Al-Ain have confirmed that they are keen to sign Sunderland forward Asamoah Gyan on a permanent basis, and have first refusal on the striker.
The UAE-based team paid the Black Cats £6 million to take the African marksman on loan for a season, and with the Ghana international not especially popular with the Stadium of Light faithful after deciding to leave, may well be set for a transfer away from Wearside.
Reports stipulate that an unnamed Qatari side are ready to launch a bid for Gyan, but Al-Ain chief executive Carlo Nohra has stated that his side are in a good position to seal a switch on a permanent basis.
“Everyone is declaring their interest in Gyan, and rightly so (because) he is performing very well and everyone should be interested,” Nohra stated, according to The Daily Mail.
“But we are very comfortable with our legal situation in this. We have a contract in place which has certain provisions for a permanent transfer so we are in no rush to make the decision now,” he admitted.
